Strong Medicine – Into the Mystic

Without a doubt Ayahuasca is strong medicine. There are many ways to the truth of yourself but Ayahuasca is particularly direct. Ayahuasca is one of the most powerful ways to access healing and teachings at a profound, personal and perhaps most importantly, life-changing level.

How powerful is Ayahuasca? If you consider that a single ceremony can often cure an alcoholic or heroin addict, for example, you may get some idea of the life-altering power of this plant. But curing addictions is only one use of this medicine. People have compared one Ayahuasca journey to 10 years of therapy or meditation. However, it is not a “magic bullet” and Ayahuasca, like any other therapy is a process.

Your first Ayahuasca journey takes you on  a three or four hour journey into the depth of yourself. And no one can tell you exactly what that journey will look like or how it will be for you. It is simply a leap of faith. Nothing can prepare you for it. You can watch all the videos, read all the articles or books you like or talk to as many people as you like. A whole new world will be opened up to you. You will understand on a fundamental level that there is so much more to human existence than waking consciousness.

Ayahuasca is a powerful plant spirit that shows you what you need to see. You may think you need to deal with some burning issue in your life but Ayahuasca understands you better than you understand yourself.  And in a ceremony she is able to put this knowledge across to you in a practical, simple and profound way. In fact one of the hallmarks of an Ayahuasca healing journey is the utter simplicity of the teaching and how incredibly profound and relevant it is to you.

Ayahuasca is a journey into the sacred – into a realm of love, fear, laughter,  sadness, pain, misery, heartache and unfettered joy. It is also a journey into the utter sacredness of your life that brings about profound healing. However, nothing is forced on you. You can ignore the lessons of Ayahuasca because human beings can make decisions for themselves. But at some fundamental level – at some level of your heart or your soul – you will understand a basic truth about life, about your very existence, about why you are here and what the human condition is all about. It’s really up to you what you do with it from there.
